West Brom make late bid for Chelsea’s Ivanovic

West Bromwich Albion are planning on making a late bid to keep Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in the Premier League ahead of his expected move to Zenit St. Petersburg, according to reports.

The defender has been at the club since 2008 but his deal ends at the end of the season and Antonio Conte has no intention of offering the Serbian defender a new contract.

The 32-year-old has agreed a two and a half year deal worth £82,00 per week, but Tony Pulis is now considering an offer as he looks to build on their current eighth place in the league, according to the Evening Standard.

Pulis is hoping that he may decide to stay in the UK having built a life here during his time at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham, Leicester and Everton are also said to be looking at the player; but according to the Evening Standard, Albion are currently the only club ready to make a bid.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is willing to let the player move abroad for free, but he may demand a transfer fee if the player remains in England.
