We Must Move Forward, Erik Ten Hag Says After Liverpool Drubbing

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has stated that they must learn a lot from their humiliating loss to Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield.

The 7-0 defeat in Merseyside, which saw the hosts scored six goals in a disastrous second half, left the Dutchman understandably disappointed.

After the loss, Erik spoke to the media saying United needs to “do the right things” in order to go on and recover.

“[The bad days] are the days [that] if you do the right things, if you react with the right messages as a manager and as a team, you can learn a lot from it,” he said, in his post-match press conference.

“You can strengthen your mentality.”

Ten Hag and his team will undoubtedly be eager to put the Anfield loss behind them and get back on track before their Europa League last 16 first leg against Real Betis on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag is confident in his team’s ability to respond well and also trusts the mentality of his squad to have a positive reaction.

“We have to reset,” he said to MUTV. “But we will do [that].

“I know my players, they are good characters, they can bounce back and they will do.”
