Arturo Vidal believes his Chile team-mate Alexis Sanchez should join him at Bayern Munich because it is his ‘opportunity to be in a big team’.
The 28-year-old is yet to commit his future to Arsenal and has just over one year remaining on his contract.
And Vidal has used the opportunity of a timely international break to sell the idea of a move to the Allianz Arena to Sanchez.
The midfielder revealed he has being using the less than conventional method WhatsApp messages to persuade the forward to trade the Premier League for the Bundesliga.
Speaking to reporters in Chile, Vidal said: ‘I told him it was the opportunity for him to be in a big team.
‘If he wants to compare with the best, he has to go to the best team.’
The 30-year-old landed in South America on Tuesday ahead of Chile’s friendly with Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Chile then face Russia in Moscow on June 9 before traveling to Romania four days later.
Sanchez has enjoyed a stellar third season at Arsenal, scoring 30 times in 51 appearances and helping his side win the FA Cup at the weekend.
