Victor Osimhen Reveals ‘Premier League Dream’ Amid Links From Clubs

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has admitted that he “dreams” of playing in the Premier League in the future.

Osimhen had the option of switching to England’s top division after leaving Lille in 2020, but instead opted for Serie A club Napoli.

At the moment, that decision appears to be perfect, with the Nigeria international producing 49 goals and 13 assists in 88 games across all competitions.

Nineteen of those goals came in Italy’s top flight during 2022-23, helping Napoli build a 15-point lead at the top of the table.

The 24-year-old’s future has been a hot topic of discussion, with Osimhen naturally attracting fans at other high-profile clubs.

Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been linked with the Nigerian forward as they attempt to bolster their respective forward lines.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis stated last month that Osimhen was not for sale because the club had no debts.

However, while declaring his commitment to Napoli, Osimhen has revealed that he hopes to eventually earn a move to the Premier League.

Speaking to The Athletic, Osimhen said: “I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me. A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”

Osimhen has recently reached the midway point of his five-year deal at Napoli, with his current terms set to end in 2025.
