Varane Thinks He Is Being Pushed Out By Man United

Manchester United defender, Raphael Varane reportedly feels he is being pushed out of the club following their decision of not extending his deal at the club.

Now that he has the freedom to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign teams, Varane, 30, is allegedly unsure about whether he will accept a pay cut at United should they draw up a new contract.

The lack of stability at United this season is also thought to have disappointed the former Real Madrid defender.

Victor Lindelof, a fellow centre back who is only 16 months younger than Varane but is thought to have a higher resale value, had his contract extended by United by one year.

According to Manchester Evening News, Varane does not want to leave the club this month. So he had hoped United would exercise the one-year option on his contract. Though, United stated that no players will be cut out.

Varane has, however, missed seven games so far this season due to five distinct cases of illnesses and injuries. He has been forced to miss 38 of the 138 United games that have been played so far.

Following a problem discovered during Varane’s August 2021 medical, United were forced to modify the contract’s documentation. Upon Varane’s unveiling, the club continued to convey the incorrect expiration date of his contract.

Varane’s return for the team’s first victory under manager Erik ten Hag against Liverpool coincided with United’s resurgence, which was crucial to the team’s successful 2022–23 campaign.

Varane started 27 games for United, of which the Red Devils lost just five.
