UK police have launched an investigation after four Premier League players were subjected to racist abuse online over the weekend.
Premier League authorities confirmed separate reports involving players from multiple clubs across England’s top division.
Wesley Fofana was targeted following Chelsea’s recent fixture at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Hannibal Mejbri also received discriminatory messages after Burnley’s weekend match, prompting swift condemnation from officials.
On Sunday, Tolu Arokodare and Romaine Mundle became the latest victims of online abuse.
The UK Football Policing Unit confirmed it had received four formal complaints within a three-day period.
Chief Constable Mark Roberts warned perpetrators that anonymity online would not shield them from investigation or prosecution.
He stressed there is no place for racial abuse, whether delivered inside stadiums or through digital platforms.
The UKFPU said dedicated officers are working to identify suspects and gather evidence across social media networks, reports RTE Sports.
Clubs involved have publicly supported their players, reiterating zero-tolerance policies toward discrimination in any form.
Football authorities continue urging supporters to report abusive content immediately to help accelerate investigations and accountability processes.
