Two Premier League Giants Enquire About Madrid’s Valverde

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly in contact with Real Madrid to “enquire” about the specifics of landing Federico Valverde during the current transfer window.

The Merseyside club prioritized overhauling their midfield department this summer after letting Naby Keita, Alex Olexlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner leave the club following a disastrous campaign last term.

Prior to the start of the upcoming season, Jurgen Klopp allegedly wants to add up to three new midfielders. And the Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool have started talking to Real Madrid to “enquire” about the specifics of recruiting Valverde, according to a report by Football Talk.

The player won’t be sold this summer, per Los Blancos, who made that clear. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince the Spanish giants to allow the South American leave if they formally express their interest.

According to the publication, Chelsea are also interested in acquiring Valverde and have reportedly enquired about his potential availability.

In order to secure any prospective deal for him, Liverpool will have to defeat the Blues in a fierce competition.

After allowing Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and N’Golo Kante to depart the club, Chelsea are now looking to add a new midfielder to their squad.

The Uruguayan, who Transfermarkt estimates to be worth over £85 million, has already proven his talent at the highest level in recent years. So if Chelsea or Liverpool are able to get him this summer, it will be a major coup.

If the Reds or the Blues decide to formally express their interest, it will be quite challenging to convince the midfielder to leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in this transfer window.
