Tottenham To Decide Antonio Conte Future In Next 48 Hours

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly make a decision on Antonio Conte’s future at the club within the next 48 hours.

The future of the Spurs boss has been under the spotlight since the Lilywhites blew a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with relegation-threatened Southampton on Saturday.

Conte launched an unexpected attack on the Tottenham squad during his post-match press conference, saying that he saw “selfish players” on the pitch.

Conte has told Tottenham’s hierarchy that his comments were meant at his players, not the club’s board.

Following Conte’s heated press conference, some Tottenham players have urged that the 53-year-old should be relieved of his duties.

According to Sky Sports News, the club will make a decision on the Italian’s future within the next 48 hours.

It’s believed that the former Inter Milan manager won’t be able to complete the rest of his contract, which expires in the summer.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are set to sack Conte by the end of the week.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to have spent the last few days deliberating on Conte’s future, and he will make a decision soon.

If Conte is dismissed, former Tottenham player and current first-team coach Ryan Mason could be appointed as interim manager until the end of the season.

Alternatively, Spurs could make efforts to convince an out-of-work manager such as Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, or Thomas Tuchel to take over immediately.

Tottenham Hotspur are fourth in the Premier League rankings, but they are only two points ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle United, who have two games in hand.
