Tottenham Hotspur Ready To Launch Move For James Maddison

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to bid for Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison ahead of the summer transfer window.

Following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship, the London club are prepared to offer a Premier League lifeline to the England international.

In preparation for the upcoming transfer season, Ange Postecoglou is ‘set’ to launch a raid for the 26-year-old, the Telegraph reported. According to the report, it might take more than £50 million to lure him away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Spurs were eighth in the standings last season. And won’t be participating in any European competitions this season, which may turn out to be a gift in disguise for them. It allows them to give the league their entire attention and drastically minimizes the amount of games they’re required to play.

Maddison has played for Leicester since 2018. He has two caps for the Three Lions. Since then, he has played 203 times for them across all competitions. Contributing 55 goals, 10 of which came last season.

He progressed through Coventry City’s youth ranks and made his first team debut as a teenager before being sold to Norwich City. At Carrow Road, he spent two years, where he scored 16 goals in 53 games. He then moved to join the Foxes.

After a challenging season, Spurs may view Maddison as someone to bring more quality to their ranks. As Antonio Conte’s permanent replacement, Postecoglou has been appointed, making him the first-ever Australian manager in the English top division.
