Tottenham Defender Talks Premier League Aspirations

Tottenham Defender, Emerson Royal shares insights with Brazilian media before their upcoming Premier League encounter with Luton Town.

As Tottenham aims to challenge Manchester City for the top spot in the Premier League, he opens up about the upcoming match at Kenilworth Road and the need for focused preparation.

Emerson expressed, “It’s an extremely difficult game with a team that has been trying to conquer positions, they come from the Championship. So we have to be careful because, in these small stadiums, the pressure is very high. So we have to be calm to play our football,”  in an interview with ESPN Brasil.

When questioned about Tottenham’s potential Premier League title pursuit, Emerson remains cautious but optimistic, stating, “People at home even joke with me that everything I enter, I enter to win. Everything I want to be the best. And I believe that our team came in with that mentality. Obviously, it’s too early for us to think about a title or things like that. Certainly, if we continue with the path we have been taking, we will be able to dream about this in the future. But we think one game at a time.”

Despite his positive outlook, Emerson faces challenges in securing a regular spot in Postecoglou’s lineup this season. Despite a strong start in the Premier League’s opening match against Brentford, where he even netted a goal, he has been relegated to the bench in the last two matches against Arsenal and Liverpool
