Tottenham can copy Manchester United’s blueprint – Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says the club can copy the Manchester United blueprint for success.

Spurs are second in the Premier League table and still fighting Leicester for the title ahead of Sunday’s clash against United at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino has build a side around academy products and young English players such as Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli – and the Argentine believes he can copy the model of United under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Asked whether Spurs could repeat United’s success under Ferguson, Pochettino said: “Why not? We need time to be patient and work very hard, to keep all together and add more quality.

“We can improve. Every season we try to improve the squad and I think we’ve shown so far that we have very good quality.

“I think Tottenham has the potential to improve and be better in the future – new stadium, unbelievable training centre, unbelievable academy, good staff and people.

“I think Tottenham have all of the ingredients to be a potentially bigger club than we are now. Tottenham is one of the bigger clubs in England but we can improve.

“My job in all clubs is to try to help to develop the club to improve and be bigger.”
