Suarez reveals the three best defenders he’s played against

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed the three toughest centre-backs he has faced in the European game.

It might come as some of a surprise, considering the strength of the league and its reputation, that none of the trio mentioned currently play in the Premier League.

Instead, while speaking to the Uruguay national team’s official Facebook page, the 29-year-old has opted for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, Paris Saint-Germain skipper Thiago Silva and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin.

As one third of arguably the most deadly front line ever assembled, the Uruguay international has elevated to elite status at the Nou Camp since departing Liverpool in the summer of 2014.

Alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, he has scored 26 goals in La Liga this season, while he has also provided an impressive 12 assists for his teammates in Catalonia.

During his first season in Spain, Suarez helped Barcelona win an iconic treble and they are on course to emulate that feat this season – which would be a truly remarkable achievement.

They currently lead La Liga by nine points ahead of Atletico, who they have been drawn against in the quarter finals of the Champions League, while they face Sevilla in the final of the Copa del Rey in May.
