Son Heung Min Left With Swollen Eye After Clash With Mbemba

Tottenham are unsure of the extent of Son Heung-injury min’s after he took a blow to the head against Marseille, leaving him with a swollen eye.

Spurs, who were on the verge of being eliminated from the Champions League after falling behind 1-0, turned things around by winning 2-1 and taking first place in their group.

But things weren’t quite perfect as key player Son had to be replaced after being struck in the head by Chancel Mbemba as they battled for the ball.

Pictures of the South Korean and his teammates celebrating in the locker room after the game have now surfaced, and they reveal that he was left with a swollen eye.

The forward appeared in good spirits, however, is unable to open his left eye at all due to the swelling.

The fear now will be that he suffered concussion which, if serious enough, could rule him out for the weekend match against Liverpool.

Speaking to the press in place of the suspended Antonio Conte, assistant manager Cristian Stellini stated that the club don’t yet know whether that’s and are waiting for a medical assessment to be done.

“In this moment, we don’t know,” he told reporters on Tuesday night.

“We have to wait for a medical assessment, and we have to wait until tomorrow. Sonny feels better now. I saw him in the dressing room.

“He celebrated with us. So we will wait for tomorrow.

“We are not sure [if he was concussed]. It is his face. His eye is a bit swollen.”
