Shaw back in squad for Everton after holding crunch Mourinho talks

Luke Shaw has rejoined Manchester United’s squad for Tuesday’s clash with Everton after holding an emergency meeting with Jose Mourinho on Monday, reports claim.

The England international was heavily criticised by the United boss over the weekend, with the Portuguese claiming Shaw was nowhere near his first-choice left-back.

But after arranging talks with the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager at the start of the week, Shaw is now back in contention, according to the Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old was left out of Saturday’s draw with West Brom, with Mourinho criticising the ‘way he trains, the way he commits, the focus, the ambition.’

However, in the meeting, Shaw suitably impressed Mourinho to be recalled to the squad assembled in the Lowry Hotel.

Whether he can convince his manager that his long-term future is at Old Trafford remains to be seen.
