Thierry Henry has hailed Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as the best player he’s ever faced.
Former England midfielder Scholes played over 500 games for United during a trophy-laden 20-year career at Old Trafford.
Having won 11 Premier League titles and the Champions League twice, Scholes is the most decorated English footballer in history with a total of 25 trophies.
The United great was renowned for his poor disciplinary record – Scholes amassed the third-most yellow cards in the Premier League with 99 – but this did not stop Henry referring to him as the best he’s faced.
‘You need to learn how to channel it [the aggression],’ legendary striker Henry told Sky Sports.
‘But you don’t want to take it away from them. People used to say he couldn’t tackle and he knew exactly what he was doing.
‘But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best player I’ve played against.’
