Sadio Mane Sends Emotional Message To Defeated Senegal Teammates

Sadio Mane has sent an emotional message to his fellow Senegal teammates after their World Cup 3-0 defeat to England.

The Bayern Munich star was ruled out of the tournament in Qatar due to a knee injury.

Mane posted an emotional message on Instagram after Senegal was knocked out after a 3-0 defeat by England on Sunday night.

He said: ‘Dear brothers, the people are very proud of your journey and you have put the balm in the hearts of Senegalese and all supporters by defending the national flag with dignity.

‘Continue learning and good luck. We will go in search of more trophies Inshallah.’

The loss of Mane, who has 34 goals in 93 appearances for his country and is a two-time African player of the year, was heartbreaking for the African champions.

The former Liverpool player played a key role in the team’s success as they defeated Egypt on penalties in the final of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations after scoring four goals overall.

Despite his tournament participation being in doubt, he was named to Senegal’s team for the tournament in Qatar.

He suffered a knee injury in Bayern’s 6-1 victory against Werder Bremen last month.

England, on the other hand, had another night of excellence, with their youthful stars shining once more.

Jordan Henderson’s first goal of the game was assisted by Jude Bellingham, while Harry Kane’s second was set up by Phil Foden.

Bukayo Saka soon scored England’s third goal of the night as they cruised through Senegal, giving the Three Lions a total of 12 goals for the tournament.
