Sadio Mane, Joao Cancelo ‘Set To Leave Bayern Munich This Summer’

Sadio Mane and Joao Cancelo are reportedly both expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Mane left Liverpool after six trophy-laden years to join Allianz Arena, with the Reds eventually sanctioning a €32m (£27.8m) deal.

The Senegal international signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga holders, and Cancelo followed in Mane’s footsteps with a surprise loan switch from Manchester City to Bavaria in January.

Cancelo’s temporary contract contains the option to make his move permanent for €70m (£60.9m), but that figure is expected to be too high for Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

According to Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have concluded that neither Mane nor Cancelo have long-term futures at the club, and both are expected to leave this summer.

Mane has a respectable 12 goals and six assists from 37 appearances in his debut season for Bayern, but he has only started 18 Bundesliga games and was involved in a memorable brawl with Leroy Sane last month.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Chelsea, after scoring 111 goals and setting up 47 more in 263 Premier League outings with Southampton and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Cancelo moved to Germany after sliding down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, but he denied any feud with the Man City manager.

The 28-year-old has one goal and six assists in 19 games for Bayern and is under contract with Man City for another four seasons, although he was booed by the Etihad crowd when he faced his parent club in the Champions League.
