Ronaldo In Manchester United Squad For The Match Against Leicester City

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is travelling with the rest of the Manchester United squad for their Premier League clash against Leicester City tonight.

The 37-year-old’s future at Old Trafford has been in the limelight throughout the summer transfer window, with the forwards allegedly  ready to quit the club and join a team participating in the Champions League.

However, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are thought to have passed down the opportunity to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, while United have no plans to allow their No.7 go this summer.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has recently stated that Ronaldo is happy to remain at Old Trafford and that he and the Portuguese forward are “on the same page.”

When asked by media if he had spoken to Ronaldo regarding his future, Ten Hag replied: “Several times, yes. We are on the same page. [He is happy to stay] otherwise he wouldn’t be here.”

“The way of playing, the set of demands, you can see in training Ronaldo has the ability,” the Dutchman added.

“He will fit in because… I don’t have to explain, he is a great player with great capabilities. He will fit in every system and every style. We are on one page, and he knows what the demands are.”

Ronaldo’s hopes of leaving late in the transfer window appear to be over, as Sky Sports News reports that the forward is ‘on the bus’ with the rest of United’s first-team squad heading to Leicester for Thursday’s Premier League match.

The 189-cap Portugal international, who has less than a year left on his contract, will be looking to force his way back into Ten Hag’s starting lineup after starting only one of United’s first four Premier League games this season.

Ronaldo played the entire 90 minutes in United’s 4-0 loss at Brentford and has appeared as a substitute in games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, and Southampton.
