Real Madrid Set For El Clasico Transfer Battle With Barcelona For €50 Million-Rated Star

Real Madrid are searching the market for a new centre back as the summer transfer window approaches.

Los Blancos are considering young players with potential in addition to well-known names like Nico Schlotterbeck and Ibrahima Konate, who have been mentioned as the primary objectives.

Jon Martin, a youngster for Real Sociedad, is one such player whom the Real Madrid sporting department is keeping an eye on.

The Spanish defender, who is only 20 years old, joined La Real’s senior squad last season and has already made 45 first-team appearances, 27 of which have come this season.

Madrid are interested in Martin and may make a move for him since they believe he is a young player with a lot of promise.

Barcelona In Competition

However, FC Barcelona, Madrid’s bitter rivals, have joined the competition to recruit Martin, according to SPORT as reported by Madrid Universal.

In fact, the Real Sociedad center-back’s agent, Inaki Ibanez, met informally with Barcelona’s director Deco yesterday to evaluate his condition, although Alessandro Bastoni is still the Catalans’ top objective.

Martin has a contract with Real Sociedad that expires in 2031. Despite his quick development and current market value of about €20 million, the release clause in his most recent contract renewal with the Basque team is worth €50 million.

His qualities are valued by Barcelona, who have excellent reports about him. He is an appealing player even if he lacks the left-footed profile that the club are looking for to bolster the centre of defence.
