Real Madrid striker will be without star striker, Karim Benzema against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium on Tuesday night.
The French forward has been in excellent form lately. On Saturday, he scored a hat-trick against Almeria, giving him three hat-tricks for the month of April. But he won’t play against La Real. This is because they didn’t include him in their lineup to take on the Txuri-Urdin.
Youngsters Alvaro Rodriguez and Nico Paco, as well as Rodrigo Dotor, Sergio Arribas, and Rodrigo Dotor, are included for the trip. Rodriguez may replace Karim Benzema in the starting lineup.
The absence of Benzema has not been explained medically. Therefore for the time being, it can be viewed as Ancelotti’s tactical move to keep Benzema fresh.
The first leg of Los Blancos’ Champions League semifinal against Manchester City will take place the following Tuesday after their Copa del Rey final showdown against Osasuna on Saturday night. Since Benzema has had trouble keeping up with playing time this year. Ancelotti might have decided to keep Benzema fully fit for the stretch of four games in as many days.
Although, the 35-year-old has struggled with fitness issues this season. He still has a respectable tally as far as goals are concerned. So far this season, the Frenchman has plundered 29 goals across all competitions.
The season has gotten to the tail-end. Real Madrid need Benzema fully fit for the remainder of matches in this current campaign. With his experience and potency in front of goal, he would be a huge factor towards Los Blancos’ success at the end of the season.
