Real Madrid No longer Interested In PSG’s Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid are reportedly not interested in rekindling their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos tried hard earlier this year to lure the 23-year-old to the Bernabeu, but he eventually signed a new three-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

Mbappe has started the 2022-23 season well for Christophe Galtier’s side, scoring 12 goals in 13 games across all competitions alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi.

With his penalty in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Benfica, the ex-Monaco man became PSG’s top scorer in the Champions League, but off-field revelations about his future surfaced before that game.

According to multiple reports, Mbappe now believes he made a mistake by signing a new contract at the Parc des Princes, and he plans to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The World Cup winner allegedly feels ‘betrayed’ by the powers-that-be due to failed promises about his place in Galtier’s first XI and general influence at the Parc des Princes.

Real Madrid have been predicted to rekindle their interest in Mbappe, but according to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have no desire to get involved in the drama.

Los Blancos are allegedly just ‘spectators’ away from the drama, and it has previously been suggested that Mbappe would not leave PSG for Real Madrid due to a previous arrangement.

With Real Madrid out of the picture, Liverpool are viewed as one of the only genuine choices for Mbappe in 2023, although the Reds are unlikely to make a bid after investing much on Darwin Nunez.

Mbappe’s penalty against Benfica was his 183rd goal in 230 appearances for PSG, and he has also provided 88 assists since joining on loan from Monaco in 2017.
