They are currently atop the La Liga table, having won five out of five matches. They are also the only squad to have a perfect winning record so far.
While Kylian Mbappe’s praise has aided the assault, a rock-solid defense deserves much of the credit.
Under Xabi Alonso’s leadership, Real Madrid has been solid in the back, with Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras emerging as notable performances, with the latter set for an early call-up to the national side.
Best start in more than a decade.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid shattered a ten-year-old record with their recent triumph over Espanyol.

Real Madrid has conceded only two goals in five league matches this season, its best start in a decade.
The last time Real Madrid’s defence looked so strong at the start of a season was in 2015/16.
During that season, Real Madrid surrendered only one goal in their first five league games. Rafael Benitez led the team back then.
Real Madrid used to have a strong defensive structure, with Sergio Ramos and Pepe leading a core group that included Rafael Varane, Marcelo, and Dani Carvajal.
Needless to say, a lot has changed since then, with Real Madrid now relying on youngster Dean Huijsen while Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger rotate.
However, Real Madrid’s defence will be put to the test as the club prepares for games against Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.
Before the end of October, Real Madrid are also expected to play Juventus and Barcelona.
