Rashford Keen To Stay At Barcelona As Man Utd Loan Continues

Marcus Rashford has made his intentions clear about staying at Barcelona following his loan move from Manchester United, insisting he wants to remain beyond this season.

The 28-year-old, sidelined at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, joined the Catalan giants in the summer after a brief spell with Aston Villa. Since arriving,

Rashford has been a regular in Hansi Flick’s squad, deployed both on the left wing and as a central striker when needed, reports Express.

He has contributed seven goals and 11 assists across all competitions this campaign.

Speaking to Sport, Rashford said: “Of course what I want is to stay at Barca. It’s an end goal, but it’s not the reason why I’m training hard and giving it my best.

The purpose is to win. Barca is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles.”

He added that the move has brought the type of pressure he desires as a footballer: “There is pressure here, but it is not a negative pressure, but the one you want as a player, the one I want and have always wanted.

I’m in the perfect place and environment to continue my journey, so I just try to do my best every day and help the team win. We’ll see what happens next summer.”

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has praised Rashford’s attitude, revealing how the forward responds positively even when not starting:

“When I tried to explain to Rashford why he wasn’t a starter, he said: ‘You don’t need to explain to me. The important thing is that the team wins and we get the three points.

Nothing else matters’. This is the right mindset and I’m glad it’s with us.”

Spanish media reports suggest Rashford is now “closer to staying than leaving,” leaving the door open for a permanent move when the loan concludes.
