Ramsey out of Arsenal trip to Hull City

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed Aaron Ramsey will miss the game against Hull City this weekend.

The 25-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in the opening day defeat to Liverpool and has since been on the sidelines.

The Wales international, who has been hampered by injuries, was said to be eying up the trip to the KC Stadium as a potential point of return.

However, Wenger admits that there is no chance of him coming back for this weekend’s game against the Tigers – potentially not even returning for another week or so.

“I hoped he’d be back for this game but he’s not ready,” Wenger told reporters at London Colney on Friday. “Next week will come too early I think.

“We are cautious with him because we do not want any setbacks with his hamstring. Tuesday is too early for him.”

Ramsey, who has struggled with problems in his hamstring for some time, managed 31 league appearances last season – the third-highest number of games he had managed in the top-flight in a single campaign for the Gunners.

However, he will have to return pretty soon if he wants to equal or better that specific tally this season for Arsenal.
