Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier has reportedly been given just two games to save his job by the French champions.
The former Lille boss oversaw PSG’s second consecutive home defeat, a 1-0 loss to Lyon over the weekend.
PSG’s loss to Rennes halted a 35-match unbeaten home run in the French top division that began in April 2021, when Galtier guided Lille to a 1-0 win against Les Parisiens during their title-winning season.
The capital club maintains a six-point lead at the top of Ligue 1, but they were relegated in the Champions League last month by Bayern Munich.
PSG have lost eight of their 18 matches since the turn of the year, and Galtier likely to be out before the start of the 2023-24 season.
While a summer split is expected, the PSG hierarchy was previously reported to be sticking behind Galtier until the end of the season, but further defeats could lead to a change of heart.
According to L’Equipe, the 56-year-old will be sacked if PSG loses more points in their next two Ligue 1 matches against former club Nice and Lens on April 8 and 15, respectively.
The latter are second in Ligue 1 with a six-point deficit to PSG, whose title could possibly be threatened by Classique rivals Marseille within the next few weeks.

PSG will not hesitate to dismiss Galtier if results in the coming weeks are poor, but it is unclear who will take over at the Parc des Princes for the rest of the season.
However, Galtier has a contract with the Ligue 1 giants till the end of the next season, and the Frenchman is still optimistic about keeping the job if PSG fails to find a suitable replacement.
