Players That Newcastle United May Sign During The Summer Transfer Window

According to Caughtoffside, In January, Newcastle United had a quiet transfer window, with no major players joining St. James Park.

Because of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules, the majority of Premier League teams conducted business cautiously in January (PSRs). During the most recent summer transfer window, the Magpies spent £120 million.

They could not afford to sign someone if they did not sell a big-name player. Although Miguel Almiron and Kieran Trippier were rumored to be leaving the team to join Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia, respectively, they ultimately remained.

Despite the lack of activity during this transfer window, Newcastle was still connected to a number of well-known players in Europe and England.

Some of the players who have been linked to Eddie Howe’s team could pique their interest again in the summer.

Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, was one of the players linked to Newcastle during the January transfer window.

According to SportBild, the player, who will only have a year left on his contract come summertime, had reportedly expressed interest in joining Eddie Howe’s squad.

The source claims that there haven’t been any “concrete discussions” about a possible extension between the player and the team yet. Newcastle might therefore attempt to take advantage of this when the summer window opens.

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke, a striker for Bournemouth, was another player connected to Newcastle. This season, the striker has been one of the Premier League’s players of the year due to his incredible form.

The Telegraph claims that Newcastle reportedly made an inquiry this month for the striker from Bournemouth, but the Premier League team turned it down. Bournemouth has a long-term contract with him that expires in 2027, so the Cherries might ask for a high bid.

He might be the player who joins the team to take Callum Wilson’s place and compete with Alexander Isak for a starting position.

Amadou Onana

Onana, an Everton midfielder, was also connected to Newcastle during the January transfer window and was supposedly on a shortlist of potential targets, as reported by The Telegraph.

The midfield player is reportedly unhappy at Goodison Park. According to reports, Everton has placed a £50 million price tag on Onana in an effort to raise cash so they won’t be caught off guard by Premier League financial regulations once more.

Several major teams, including Manchester United and Arsenal, were interested in Onana in January. A bidding war for the Belgian midfield player may occur during the summer transfer window.
