Player’s Return To Chelsea Delayed Amid Interest From French Club

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s return date has once more been delayed by Chelsea due to Marseille’s interest in the striker.

A revised date Chelsea had offered several of its out-of-favor players last week to give them more time to decide on their futures and consider prospective moves, stated that Aubameyang was due back at Cobham today.

According to Daily Mail, the Gabon international was told he will instead need to return to Chelsea’s Cobham training facility on Tuesday.

Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku are both anticipated to return on Tuesday. After having their planned returns postponed from last week.

Although Lukaku’s previous preferred club, Inter Milan, have abandoned their pursuit of the Belgian striker. Chelsea have been in negotiations with Juventus and Al-Hilal about an agreement for him.

The report also stated that Aubameyang was not scheduled to travel with the rest of the Chelsea squad on Monday when they left for their preseason tour of America.

He joined Chelsea last summer under Thomas Tuchel. But under Graham Potter, he became less and less of a priority. He was also left out of the team for the club’s run in the Champions League.

A number of top European teams have expressed interest in signing Aubameyang due to his continued good reputation throughout the continent. With Champions League qualifiers Marseille emerging as front-runners.
