PGMOL Grant Liverpool VAR Audio Demand Following Controversial Disallowed Goal

Liverpool have reportedly received the audio of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review which led to Luis Diaz’s goal being chalked off against Tottenham Hotspur.

In Saturday’s Premier League game, there was a misunderstanding between VAR Darren England and in-field referee Simon Hooper that resulted in the goal being disallowed.

Later that evening, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) admitted that a “significant human error” had happened.

According to Belfast Telegraph, the body has now handed Liverpool the audio pertaining to the incident before it is made public.

The report also claimed that the audio may be included in the upcoming “Match Officials: Mic’d Up” episode, which is scheduled to air on Monday night, if not earlier.

But it is now recognized that the audio will undoubtedly be made available. The only question is when.

Curtis Jones received a straight red card earlier in the game, and Liverpool are reportedly appealing that decision.

In the second half, Diogo Jota was also dismissed for a second infraction deserving of being booked.

Following the Diaz incident, England and his assistant VAR, Daniel Cook, were not picked for this weekend’s Premier League games.
