Paulo Dybala Joins Roma On Free Transfer After Juventus Exit

Paulo Dybala has joined Roma on a free transfer, joining Jose Mourinho at Stadio Olimpico after months of uncertainty about his future.

Dybala’s seven-year stint at Juventus came to an end when his contract expired in June, but he will now stay in Italy with the Giallorossi.

Roma fans will be hoping that Dybala can lead Mourinho’s team to the next level in 2022-23, with the Portuguese manager wanting to get the club back into the Champions League after winning the Europa Conference League last season.

What Is Dybala’s Salary And Contract Term At Roma?

Dybala has signed a three-year contractΒ with Roma that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. He is set to get a salary of about €6mΒ ($7m/Β£5.1m) per year.

Which Number Will Dybala Wear At Roma?

Dybala will wear No.21 at Roma, the same number he wore at Juventus. He was offered the No.10 position but turned it down out of respect for club legend Francesco Totti.

Nemanja Matic, another new Roma player, had accepted the No.21 shirt for the next season but will now wear No.8 instead.

Who Else Will AS Roma Sign This Summer?

Dybala is Roma’s fourth summer signing, following Mile Svilar, Nemanja Matic, and Zeki Celik, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alessandro Florenzi, and Cengiz Under have all left the club.

Mourinho has admitted that additional investment will be required for his side to break into the Serie A top four and challenge for the Europa League, with Dybala unlikely to be the last man to leave the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma are also rumoured to be interested in signing Spanish playmaker Isco, who left Real Madrid last month, but Sevilla are also interested.
