Out-Of-Favour Real Madrid Defender Keen To Stay Despite Offers

Jesus Vallejo has played for Real Madrid on a relatively infrequent basis. The 26-year-old has been a member of the team since 2015 with most of his formative years spent on loan.

The Spaniard has remained at the Santiago Bernabeu since his return from his brief stint with Granada during the 2020–21 season. However, under Carlo Ancelotti, he has not received enough playing time.

Vallejo played just four times during the previous season across all competitions, totaling a meager 88 minutes.

In the Spanish capital club’s hierarchy, the 26-year-old is positioned below Eder Militao, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernandez.

As a result, Real Madrid are open to the possibility of selling Vallejo during the summer transfer window, even though they are very happy with the professionalism and commitment shown by the 26-year-old.

However, AS reports that Vallejo, despite receiving offers to join other teams this summer, has no desire to leave Real Madrid any time soon.

The centre-half has a contract with the Merengues until the summer of 2025 and wishes to fulfil that, even though he has proposals from clubs within Spain and outside.

Vallejo had been in the news recently after he gave up the No. 5 jersey to new signing Jude Bellingham, for which the England international thanked him.

The centre-back will be wearing the No. 24 kit, should he stay put with Real Madrid this summer.

The defender is already working hard on his physical fitness in Zaragoza to prepare for the pre-season which is bound to kick off on July 10.

And, as things stand, Vallejo has no plans or thoughts of leaving Real Madrid this summer.
