Olivier Giroud Agreed To Join Los Angeles FC This Summer

Olivier Giroud, the record goal scorer for France, has agreed with Los Angeles FC to join Major League Soccer Club this summer.

It seems inevitable that Olivier Giroud will eventually finalize his transfer to Los Angeles FC, claims self-described football transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.

The AC Milan forward is expected to sign a free agent contract with Major League Soccer this summer, effective December 2025, following the expiration of his Rossoneri contract this summer.

According to reports in France, the 37-year-old has committed to an 18-month contract with the Californian club beginning on August 1.

His contract with Italian team AC Milan ends at the end of the current campaign, according to Leadership.

The 2018 World Cup champion Giroud will play for LAFC for the ninth club he has played for in more than 20 years.

Before making his debut with Montpellier, when he won the Ligue 1 championship in 2012, he began his career at the French club Grenoble, where he played for Istres and Tours.

Giroud then played nine seasons in England, first with London rivals Chelsea for three seasons (where he won the Champions League in 2021) and then with Arsenal from 2012 to 2018.

He moved to Italy in 2021, and with Milan the following year, he won the Serie A championship.

Giroud, with 57 goals in 131 games, is the all-time leading scorer for France.

He will be joining former national team captain and best buddy Hugo Lloris at LAFC. Lloris retired from international football following France’s 2022 World Cup loss to Argentina.

Last December, Lloris the goalkeeper moved from Tottenham to LAFC.
