Nottingham Forest have reportedly entered the race for Liverpool attacker, Ben Doak following the sale of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United for a reported fee of £55 million.
Last season, while on loan at Middlesbrough, Doak was a revelation, tallying three goals and seven assists in the EFL Championship.
Additionally, Forest, who have a lot of money after selling Elanga to Newcastle, have taken note of his performances.
After placing 7th the previous season, the Tricky Trees were guaranteed a spot in Europe. However, with Elanga headed to the northeast last week for £55 million, boss Nuno Espirito Santo lost one of his biggest players.

Doak is one of the candidates to fill the right wing role that the City Ground’s managers have identified.
Earlier this summer, teams like Everton, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth made inquiries about Doak. In contrast, Brentford have had a sustained interest in the 19-year-old for at least a year.
According to the Daily Express, Forest are among the most recent teams to enter the race after receiving the proceeds from the high-profile sale of Elanga. Another team interested in Doak, who has admirers in Spain as well is PSV Eindhoven.
After having his first taste of regular football with Boro last season, it is believed that the young player might be open to leaving Liverpool.
Additionally, the Reds are willing to sell Doak for a high price as they have set their asking price at around £25 million.
