Newcastle Thrashed Away From Home For The Second Straight Game

According to Hexham Courant, Eddie Howe’s team needed to win after losing to Everton 3-0 in the middle of the week, but the English manager had to start with the same lineup because injuries are still plaguing the team.

On the other hand, Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff were judged healthy enough to sit on the bench, which is a positive development as the hectic holiday season approaches.

Unfortunately for the Toon, Spurs looked strong despite their dismal recent performance. Goals from Richarlison, Destiny Udogie, and Heung-Min Son gave them a 4-0 lead, and Joelinton’s late goal put an end to the scoring.

Anthony Gordon’s exposure of Spurs’ high line gave Newcastle their first chance of the match, and he raced in to cross for Alexander Isak. However, Ben Davies’ outstanding defending denied the Swedish forward.

After a terrible experience at Goodison Park on Thursday, Kieran Trippier’s visit to his former team was equally disastrous, as Son caused him a great deal of trouble down the left.

After dribbling past the right-back and crossing for Udogie to score his first goal for Spurs from close range on minute 26, the South Korean winger set up the first goal.

After twelve minutes, the score was 2-0 as Son again slipped past Trippier with extreme ease. This time, he found Richarlison, who finished with his left foot in the bottom corner.

At the hour mark, Pedro Porro played a precise long ball to Richarlison, who brought it down well before putting his second past Martin Dubravka to seal the victory.

After taking over for the injured Nick Pope, the Slovakian goalie has not played well. On minute 85, he brought down Son in the penalty area; the forward then got up to score Spurs’ fourth goal.

Wilson’s pass for Joelinton’s goal late in the game gave Newcastle’s supporters something to cheer about, but overall it was a disappointing performance. Next up in the Champions League is AC Milan.
