Napoli Confirm Appointment Of Rudi Garcia As Head Coach

SSC Napoli have confirmed the appointment of Rudi Garcia as their manager following the exit of Luciano Spalletti.

The 59-year-old takes over as Spalletti’s successor after the Partenopei’s first Scudetto in 33 years in 2022–23 under his successful leadership. Spalletti departed the club to take a break.

Garcia has been selected to succeed 64-year-old as Napoli’s manager. Beating out candidates like Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier and former Spain boss Luis Enrique earlier this month.

Garcia’s appointment was officially announced by Napoli in a brief statement on their official website. However they have not yet revealed the terms of the Frenchman’s contract.

Garcia was introduced by the team as their new manager, and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis tweeted: “I am pleased to announce that, after having known him for the last 10 days, Mr Rudi Garcia will be the new coach of Napoli.

“To him, the most sincere welcome and a good luck wish.”

Garcia also took to Twitter to react to his appointment, adding: “What a pleasure to join Napoli’s project. What a pleasure to return to Italy.

“I am motivated and ambitious, now more than ever, to continue to bring up the colours of the Italian Champions.”

Garcia returns to management just two months after stepping down from his position as Al-Nassr’s head coach in Saudi Arabia.

During his brief tenure in command of the Middle Eastern club. Which placed second in the Saudi Pro League standings and four points behind champions Al-Ittihad. The Frenchman momentarily managed five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
