Mauricio Pochettino ‘Aims At Three Areas To Improve Chelsea’

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly informed Chelsea officials of his already drawn up plans on how to transform the struggling Blues.

Pochettino has been touted as the most likely replacement for Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, the club’s last permanent head coach and current caretaker manager, for some weeks.

Whether or not the Argentine ends up at Stamford Bridge, Lampard will remain in command of the Blues until the end of the season.

However, it was reported earlier this week that Chelsea’s leadership were hopeful of reaching an agreement with Pochettino before the end of the week.

If that happens, Pochettino will already have plans in place for how he wants his squad to appear for what Todd Boehly and co expect to be a much-improved season.

According to the Daily Mail, Pochettino would like to bring in a new goalkeeper, central midfielder, and center forward if he becomes manager of the West Londoners.

As per the report, the former Tottenham Hotspur star would love to bolster his squad with Premier League experience.

Despite the fact that Chelsea has been widely connected with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as a replacement for either Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea have been linked with a bid for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but it remains to be seen whether a move for the Nigerian is possible given his price tag.

As the report emphasizes, Chelsea must sell players as soon as possible, preferably before June 30, in order to strengthen its 2022-23 finances.

With no European football for the upcoming season, Pochettino or an alternative must also drastically cut playing numbers due to a shortened calendar.
