Mauricio Pochettino Agrees With Todd Boehly On Three Priority Transfers For Chelsea

With the hiring of Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea have taken a significant step toward strengthening the team even more in preparation for the upcoming season.

On Monday afternoon, the 51-year-old was unveiled as the Blues’ new head coach after signing a two-year deal with a third-year option.

According to football.london, Pochettino  agreed a deal to replace Frank Lampard earlier this month following several weeks of fruitful negotiations.

The former Tottenham manager will formally take over as manager on July 1, giving him a complete preseason to establish his bearings and start making plans for the following campaign.

This summer, Chelsea are likely to part with a lot of players, but there will also be some fresh faces. Pochettino and his co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart seem to have got off on the right foot.

The trio are in agreement that Chelsea must prioritise bringing a striker, a central midfielder and a goalkeeper to west London this summer.

Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with replacing Kai Havertz in the frontline, while Manuel Ugarte looks set to partner Enzo Fernandez in an exciting double pivot.

David Raya has been name-checked in relation to becoming the Blues’ new shot-stopper, though he’s said to have caught the attention of Tottenham too.

One thing for sure is that Pochettino is on the same wavelength as Winstanley and Stewart which is a great start.
