Matic reportedly says yes to Juventus

Nemanja Matic wants to force through a move to Juventus and is keen to convince Chelsea to lower their demands for his services, according to reports in Italy.

The Serbian midfielder looks destined to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, with Manchester United and Inter Milan also showing serious interest, but Matic is keen to move to Turin according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper’s front page on Monday reports how the 28-year-old has ‘said yes’ to Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri, but now wants the Blues to reduce their claimed £40million asking price in order to make the move happen.

Matic has been left off the Blues’ squad list for their pre-season tour of Asia, with the £40million arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko accelerating his departure despite Matic’s role in the Premier League title victory during manager Antonio Conte’s first season.

Matic had been very keen on a move to Old Trafford to be reunited with former boss Jose Mourinho but relations between the Premier League rivals have cooled since United hijacked Chelsea’s deal to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Inter Milan enquired about Matic but decided the fee was too high for a player with a similar skill-set to Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is already part of their squad.
Juventus have money to spend after selling Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan for £35million.

Federico Bernardeschi is one player who looks certain to arrive after a fee of £35m was agreed with Fiorentina. The Old Lady are hopeful the deal will be done in order for the youngster to fly to the United States for their pre-season tour.
