Manchester United To Rekindle Interest In Adrien Rabiot

Manchester United are reportedly considering rekindling their interest in 27-year-old Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford after the club failed to seal a deal for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong last summer, with the Red Devils thought to have reached an arrangement with Juventus.

Nevertheless, it is thought that the Frenchman’s high wage demands blocked the deal, with Rabiot’s agent and mother, Veronique Rabiot, pricing the midfielder out of a move.

Man United eventually settled on Casemiro, while Christian Eriksen arrived last summer to bolster Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

The Red Devils are expected to acquire at least one new midfielder in the upcoming transfer window, as Scott McTominay could go in quest of regular starts.

According to Football Transfers, Manchester United have placed Rabiot ‘on the list,’ with the midfielder expected to become available on a free transfer at the end of June.

The Frenchman has entered the final six months of his contract in Turin and is expected to leave the Italian giants this summer in quest of greener pastures.

Rabiot has been a key player for the Old Lady this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 26 games across all competitions.

According to a recent report, Liverpool are also interested in the midfielder, who would be one of the most appealing free agents on the market if his contract at Juventus expired.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder “wishes” to play in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea previously connected with his services.

Rabiot has played 154 times for Juventus, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists since joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
