Manchester United boost as Bernardo Silva ‘dreams’ of joining a top club

Manchester United have been given fresh hope in their pursuit of Bernardo Silva after the midfielder admitted that he ‘dreams’ of leaving Monaco for a bigger club.

The Portugal international is reportedly top of Jose Mourinho’s summer shortlist as the United manager looks to bolster his attacking options with new reinforcements.

Silva, who has been in sublime form for Monaco this season, is valued at around £70 million and has also been linked with a switch to Chelsea.

The 22-year-old still has three years remaining on his current contract with Monaco but admits he is aiming to leave the Ligue 1 leaders in order to further his career.

‘I am finishing my third season in Monaco, who gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level,’ he said in an interview with SIC.

‘But of course, every player dreams of playing for the best teams and in the best divisions one day. I’m no exception.’
