Manchester City ‘Confident Of Landing’ Jude Bellingham

Manchester City are reportedly confident of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham despite intense competition.

The 19-year-old has been a standout for BVB this season, providing nine goals and two assists in 21 games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, since joining Dortmund from Birmingham City in the summer of 2020, the midfielder has scored 19 goals and produced 20 assists in 111 games.

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are among the teams said to be interested in signing the England international next summer.

Man City Confident Of Signing Jude Bellingham?

However, the Daily Mail reports that Man City are in a strong position to secure his services, with the Citizens believing that they are presently in pole position for the teenager.

According to the report, Man City’s strong relationship with Dortmund after the acquisition of Erling Braut Haaland has given Pep Guardiola’s squad the upper hand in the transfer market.

However, it is believed that Bellingham would stay at BVB next summer before transferring to the Etihad Stadium later.

The Englishman faced Man City twice in the Champions League group stage, scoring in a 2-1 defeat in Manchester on September 14 before helping his team earn a point in a goalless draw with the Premier League champions at the end of October.

Guardiola recently lauded the former Birmingham player, calling him “the whole package.”

“He was 17 when he arrived but it was not just about his quality, how he was leading, his kicking, going to the referee,” said the Man City boss.

“This guy was something special in terms of his mentality. Now he is 19 and he is already one of the captains. The quality, everybody knows it. The whole package is really good.”

Bellingham is highly anticipated to start for England in the World Cup, with Declan Rice in the midfield position.
