Man United Take Down Cristiano Ronaldo Mural From Old Trafford

Manchester United have removed a giant mural that features Cristiano Ronaldo outside Old Trafford in the wake of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old said that he feels “betrayed” by the Red Devils, while also blasting manager Erik ten Hag and club owners the Glazers.

The full 90-minute interview will air on TalkTV on Wednesday and Thursday evening, with full details of the discussion to be made public.

Ronaldo has a contract with the 20-time English champions until next June, but he is unlikely to play for the club again following his recent comments, which shook the football world.

Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea are among the clubs seeking to sign the attacker, who is now training with the Portugal squad in preparation for the start of the 2022 World Cup.

Man United have now removed a huge poster of Ronaldo from outside Old Trafford, hinting that they are preparing to move on from him.

The former Sporting youngster appears on the poster with some of the club’s legendary former number sevens as part of a ‘more than a shirt’ campaign.

However, the mural has now been removed by the 20-time English champions, just hours before the first part of Morgan’s interview airs.

Ronaldo has struggled to make an impact for the Red Devils this season, scoring three goals and assisting twice in 16 appearances across all competitions.

The Portuguese has only scored once in 10 Premier League games this season, but the goal against Everton was his 700th in club football.

The majority of the forward’s Red Devils teammates supposedly feel he should not play for the club again after his harsh criticism of the 20-time English champions.
