Man United Set To Battle Aston Villa For Atletico Madrid Defender

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Atletico Madrid defender, Reinildo Mandava in the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old is anticipated to be in the market this summer as he will become a free agent the following year.

United are eager to sign him, and the Spanish strongholds may come under pressure to sell him in the upcoming weeks. According to Sun as cited by Caught Offside, Aston Villa will compete with them for Reinildo, though, as they are not the only Premier League team interested in him.

Where the 30-year-old left-back ends up is still up in the air. But he might be able to command a fee around £8 million.

The Red Devils need to have more options at left defense. Tyrell Malacia has hardly played this season, and Luke Shaw has had a number of injury setbacks. The Zimbabwe international would be a fantastic addition for the Red Devils at a fair price if they need more quality in that department.

Villa will also need to find a replacement for players like Lucas Digne and Alex Moreno, who have been linked to moves away from the West Midlands club.

It’s unclear if the West Midlands club can persuade the La Liga defender to choose them over a move to United. But he would be a great addition.

Unai Emery’s side may have an advantage in the transfer market because they are well-positioned to qualify for the Champions League next season.
