Man United Reject Barcelona Loan Plan As Rashford Transfer Takes New Twist

Marcus Rashford’s future has taken another major turn after Man United reportedly rejected FC Barcelona’s attempt to keep the forward for another season.

Rashford has enjoyed a productive loan spell in Spain this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists for Barcelona.

The England international has looked revived at Camp Nou after falling out of favour at Old Trafford.

However, Barcelona’s option to sign the 28-year-old permanently for €30 million (£26.1m) expired at the end of March.

That development means the La Liga champions must now return to the negotiating table if they still want to secure his services this summer.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona had asked to extend Rashford’s loan for a second campaign. But Manchester United are said to have firmly rejected that proposal, making it clear they would prefer a permanent sale instead.

Barcelona now face difficult Rashford decision

Barcelona are now under pressure to decide whether Rashford is worth a fresh financial push, especially with other transfer priorities also on their radar this summer.

The Catalan side are believed to be reluctant to enter a bidding war if other clubs step forward, but Rashford’s own desire to remain in Spain could still influence the outcome.

His chances of staying involved in Barcelona’s starting plans may also improve after Raphinha was ruled out for around five weeks through injury, reports Metro.

For now, Rashford’s long-term future remains open, but one thing is clear — Manchester United want this situation resolved on their terms.
