Teddy Sheringham has claimed Marcus Rashford “did not deserve” his high-profile move from Manchester United to FC Barcelona, despite the forward’s impressive performances in Spain this season.
Rashford secured a dream loan switch to Barcelona last summer after falling out of favour at Old Trafford under former manager Ruben Amorim.
The England international has since thrived, registering 12 goals and 13 assists across competitions, reports Metro.
After a previous loan spell at Aston Villa, Rashford’s move to the Nou Camp raised eyebrows. Sheringham believes the winger’s earlier form did not justify such a major transfer, calling it “unbelievable.”
However, the former United striker admitted Rashford has turned things around in Spain.

He suggested Barcelona are likely to pursue a permanent deal, given the attacker’s strong impact this season.
Sheringham also downplayed the role of managerial changes at United, insisting Rashford’s future depends more on the player’s personal ambitions than who is in charge.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have improved under interim boss Michael Carrick following Amorim’s departure, climbing to third in the Premier League standings.
Despite that progress, Rashford appears settled in Spain and could end the season with silverware, as Barcelona remain in a strong position at the top of La Liga.
