Man United Eye Audacious Deal For Striker Who Is Rivalling Kane

Manchester United are reportedly ready to line up a deal for Stuttgart forward, Serhou Guirassy ahead of the January transfer window.

The Red Devils spent £72 million to bring in Rasmus Hojlund last summer, but it seems they are not satisfied with the attacking output. Therefore, they are now in the race to sign Guirassy, who is currently rivalling Harry Kane for the highest goalscorer award in the Bundesliga.

With a £15 million release clause, the 27-year-old is thought to have the capacity to challenge Hojlund, who has shown glimpses of his ability after hamstring surgery but is inconsistent.

According to The Mirror, top of the Old Trafford January wish list is Guirassy, who has 15 goals in 10 Bundesliga games. The Guinea international only moved permanently to Stuttgart this summer, having spent the previous season on loan at Rennes.

United manager, Erik ten Hag is also eager to bring in a new center back. But his plans to do so are still on hold as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3 billion acquisition of a 25% stake of the club is still pending approval.

After the deal closes, Ratcliffe’s INEOS group will take over football operations. And this should lead to a shift in emphasis around transfers. However, the partial takeover has been plagued by delays.

After suffering yet another self-inflicted draw away to Galatasaray on Wednesday, the three-time UCL winners are barely hanging on to hopes of advancing in the Champions League.

They need to win at Old Trafford against Bayern Munich later this month and hope that the outcome between Copenhagen and Galatasaray goes their way.

They are presently in fifth place after five wins in the last six games have seen an improvement in results in the Premier League.
