Man United Confirm Pogba’s Exit As Juventus’ Comeback Becomes More Certain

Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United when his contract ends on June 30, with the midfielder close to joining Juventus on a free transfer.

Pogba became United’s most expensive player when he re-signed from Juventus in an Ā£89 million ($112 million) deal in 2016.

Unfortunately, the France international was unable to live up to his lofty price tag, and the Red Devils have decided not to renew his contract following his most recent dismal season.

What Has Manchester United Said About Paul Pogba?

In a statement on their official website, United said their final goodbyes to Pogba, which reads: “The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract.

“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

“We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”

Pogba’s Disappointing Second Stint At ManĀ Utd

Pogba returned to ManchesterĀ United following four highly successful seasons with Juventus, where he won multiple Serie A titles and established himself as one of Europe’s top midfielders.

However, he was unable to build on that reputation in Manchester, as the Carabao Cup and Europa League double he won in his first season back under Jose Mourinho proved to be the only trophies he would win throughout his time with the Red Devils.

The 2021-22 season was likely his poorest yet, with only one goal in 29 appearances across all competitions, and he struggled with his familiarĀ fitness issues.

Pogba won the World Cup with France in 2018, but he was never able to replicate his success with the Red Devils at club level, and he will leave Old Trafford with a total of 39 goals and 51 assists.

What’s Next For Pogba?

Pogba has been linked with both PSG and Real Madrid, but according to GOAL, Juventus are the frontrunners in the race to sign him.

The Italian giants want to lure the 29-year-old back to Turin and have offered him a three-year contract worth ā‚¬7.5 million (Ā£6.3 million/$7.9 million) per season, but he’s yet to decide on his next move.
