Man United ‘Confident Of Signing Marcus Rashford To A New Long-Term Deal’

Manchester United are reportedly confident of signing Marcus Rashford to a new long-term contract in the near future.

Rashford struggled to make an impact for Man United last season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 31 appearances, and he was linked with a move away from the club over the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to have tried to sign him, but the 25-year-old ultimately stayed at Old Trafford and has been in excellent form this season.

Rashford had eight goals and three assisted in 19 games for the 20-time English champions in 2022-23.

The forward’s outstanding play earned him a spot in England’s World Cup squad, and he has scored three goals for the Three Lions in Qatar.

Rashford scored off the bench in his team’s Group B opener against Iran on November 21 before scoring twice as a starter in the 3-0 triumph over Wales on Tuesday night.

The attacker’s current contract at Manchester United is set to expire at the end of June, sparking speculation about his future.

However, the Red Devils have the option to activate a 12-month extension in the agreement, restricting him from holding discussions with international clubs at the start of 2023.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United intends to extend the contract in order to give them more time to present a new long-term offer.

According to the report, Erik ten Hag’s side have no reservations about Rashford’s future and are confident of signing him to a new contract soon.

Rashford recently spoke about his satisfaction with the club this season under Ten Hag.

The academy product scored his 100th goal for Manchester United against West Ham United in the Premier League at the end of October.
