Man City Get Needed Boost As England Star Spotted In Training

Manchester City forward, Phil Foden has reportedly been seen training after limping off in City’s 3-3 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

The England international was substituted by Pep Guardiola in the 87th minute after scoring a fantastic goal at the Bernabeu.

Hopefully, he has escaped any major injuries, and sooner rather than later, he should be back in the mix for City.

Near the end of the game, Foden was the victim of a strong challenge and hobbled off to be replaced by Julian Alvarez.

Although the versatile forward looked unhappy to be leaving. It was obvious that Guardiola wasn’t taking any chances.

The Spaniard said: “It’s a knock.

“He was grumpy with me when I made a sub, which means he is OK, but he made a fantastic goal.”

When questioned about his injury, Foden said it was just a ‘bad dead leg.’

According to talkSPORT, the 23-year-old has been seen training, which suggests his injury isn’t too serious and he will soon return to action.

City’s next opponent is Luton Town at the Etihad in the Premier League.

It wouldn’t be shocking, though, if he was rested for the second leg against Real Madrid, which is scheduled for next week. So he could be fully recovered for the rematch.

Guardiola’s men are chasing another treble after their success last season. With the FA Cup and the Premier League still in sight, winning the Champions League is equally important to achieve same feat as the last campaign.
