.The Premier League has charged Manchester City with with breaking more than 100 financial rules following a four-year investigation.

Alleged breaches are said to have occurred over nine seasons between 2009-10 and 2017-18. This will be referred to an independent commision.

The charges levelled against the Citizens concern financial information pertaining to revenue, including sponsorship revenue and operating costs.

If the commision finds Man City guilty of the breaches, they could face a variety of sanctions, including a point deduction.

The Premier League detailed over 100 charges against City in a statement released on Monday. This is the result of a four-year investigation into their finances.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced their fine to £9m because “most of the alleged breaches were either not established or time-barred.”
