Ryan Gravenberch is reportedly missing in training on Tuesday, which is a setback for Liverpool ahead of their Champions League matchup with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Dutch midfielder was forced off the field due to an ankle injury during Sunday’s loss to Manchester United.
Early in the second half, the 23-year-old suffered an injury while attempting to exert pressure on Bryan Mbeumo. Even though he made an effort to continue on, he was replaced soon after the hour, and Liverpool lost 2-1.
Gravenberch’s injury was the reason for his substitution, and head coach Arne Slot said after the game that his situation will be assessed prior to the team’s trip to Germany.

“I took him off because he twisted his ankle,” Slot revealed after the match. “Is he an injury concern? That’s what we have to wait and see tomorrow, but we have to play [on Wednesday] again.”
Gravenberch Doubtful For Frankfurt Clash
According to the Daily Express, Gravenberch did not attend open training, though, so it looks probable that the Reds will be without the former Bayern Munich midfielder when they play Frankfurt.
Wataru Endo, on the positive side, returned to training. After suffering a hamstring injury against Chelsea, the Japanese international was sidelined for international duty and missed the match against United.
Alexis Mac Allister also took part in training despite needing four stitches for a head injury he sustained during the defeat to United. For Liverpool’s next game in Germany, both players and Curtis Jones might take Gravenberch’s spot in the holding midfield.
Slot will be expected to give an injury update in his pre-match press conference in Frankfurt, which is set for 630 p.m. on Tuesday.
